Stephen Purcell, D.O.

Dr. Purcell joined the faculty of PCOM in 1990. He is Professor, Chair and Residency Program Director of Dermatology of the Division of Dermatology in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Purcell began his career in dermatology with a series of military assignments. He was Chief of Aerospace Medicine Service at Hancock Field, NY from 1982 to 1983, and Chief of the Dermatology Service of Ehrling Bergquist Regional USAF Hospital at Offut AFB, Nebraska from 1986 to 1988. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Purcell received his D.O. from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1980 and completed his internship and residency with the United States Air Force Medical Center. His additional training includes a course in Aerospace Primary Medicine and the Xanar Laser Preceptorship Training Program. Dr. Purcell has published numerous articles in professional dermatology journals and has lectured at national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society of Investigative Dermatology, and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.
