Dr. Kanoff is Professor, Chair and Director of Residency of Neurologic Surgery in PCOM's Department of Surgery. He is attending neurosurgeon at numerous area hospitals and Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Allegheny University Hahnemann - MCP School of Medicine. Dr. Kanoff's clinical investigations and research have focused principally on pain management in the field of neurology: implantable programmable pumps for spinal morphine for cancerous and benign pain, and the effect of preoperative morphine injection in cervical disc surgery.
Dr. Kanoff completed residencies in Neurology and Neuropathology at the Institute of Neurology of The National Hospital, Queen Square, London, England in 1979, in Neurological Surgery at the University of California Medical Center - San Diego in 1980, and at the Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in the Bronx, New York in 1978. He is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and has held numerous posts in its Neurological Division. He is also a member of The New York Academy of Sciences and the American Medical Association. Dr. Kanoff holds D.O. and M.Sc. degrees from PCOM.
