Dr. Maxwell Stepanuk is Associate Professor and Director of Residency of the Orthopedic Surgery Division at PCOM. He joined the faculty in 1990 and is responsible for educational program development for 14 residents at seven hospitals. Dr. Stepanuk is a peer review physician for U.S. Medical Review and serves as attending physician at numerous area hospitals. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, Hand Surgery and Sports Medicine Sections. His publications include "Common Hip Disorders in Children" in the Michigan Osteopathic Journal (1973) and "Pain Source: Key to Shoulder Care" in Clinical Trends in Osteopathic Medicine (1977).
In 1993 Dr. Stepanuk was honored with a fellowship from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. He received the Mead Johnson Award for graduate medical education in 1975, and was given third prize in the Giegy Pharmaceuticals - American College of Osteopathic Surgeons Award for Scientific Literary Achievement (1976). Dr. Stepanuk received his D.O. from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1971.
