School Psychology

  

School psychology programs at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine are offered through the Psychology Department. The Psychology Department offers students an integrated, competency-based curriculum specific to each program. Internationally renowned, caring and committed faculty mentor PCOM students, guiding them through the practitioner-scholar training model and encouraging life-long learning in the field of psychology. Individuals in School Psychology careers can expect to help children and adolescents resolve learning and behavioral problems thus promoting healthy development. Important and rewarding work, school psychology professionals can expect a wide variety of career opportunities and the ability to work in many job settings including public and private schools, counseling centers, community agencies, private practices, clinics and university counseling centers and even hospitals.

At PCOM, students benefit from learning in an osteopathic medical school and from a campus-wide sense of serving and understanding the "whole person." Nationally renowned, caring faculty members teach in a highly personalized, hands-on learning environment. Classes are offered at convenient, flexible times and formats for working individuals. PCOM's programs are unique in their use of high-fidelity simulators and standardized patient actors, immersing students in realistic experiences and clinical situations.

PCOM offers the
Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology, the
Educational Specialist in School Psychology and the
Master of Science in School Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis.
