In order to be considered for the majority of PCOM's financial aid resources and federal student loans, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The basic eligibility criteria are:
- Student must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
- Full details of which immigration statuses make you an eligible noncitizen can be found here.
- Student must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student in an eligible degree or certificate program.
- Student must be enrolled as at least a half-time student (usually at least 3 credits).
- Student must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Nucleus is PCOM’s online communication center for students. Use your Financial Aid Checklist within Nucleus to complete outstanding documents, accept your financial aid awards, and view your estimated cost of attendance. To access your Financial Aid Checklist: Login to Nucleus, click on the “Resources for Students” tab, and then scroll down to the Financial Aid section in the right-hand column. You will be given your Nucleus login name and password in your Welcome Booklet from the PCOM Student Affairs Office within a few weeks of submitting your tuition prepayment to the PCOM Admissions Office. |

Use the below timeline as a guide for completing financial aid requirements. The following dates are for students admitted to their PCOM program prior to February 15. For students admitted to their PCOM program after February 15, refer to your Financial Aid Checklist within Nucleus to view your specific deadline for scholarship consideration. |
January 1 |
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) made available online (www.fafsa.gov). Students who wish to be considered for federal student loans and PCOM’s financial need scholarships must complete the FAFSA.

February 1
|
- PCOM Scholarship Application made available on your Nucleus Financial Aid Checklist.
- File your taxes as soon as possible and (if applicable) encourage your parents to do the same.

February 15 |
- Complete the FAFSA as soon as possible!
- If you or (if applicable) your parents have not yet filed your federal taxes, you can use estimated income values to complete the FAFSA.
- PCOM’s school code is 015979. Both PCOM and GA-PCOM students use this code.
- Our office strongly encourages you to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) on the FAFSA to import your and (if applicable) your parents’ tax information. This tool will minimize documents our office might request. After filing your taxes, it takes about 2 weeks for the DRT to be an option on the FAFSA.
- It takes 2 weeks for the FAFSA to show as complete on your Financial Aid Checklist.

Parent Income Information is REQUIRED on the FAFSA to be Considered for PCOM's Financial Need Scholarship Funding! If you wish to be considered for PCOM's financial need scholarships, you are REQUIRED to post your parent information on the FAFSA if you are age 26 and younger as of December 31, 2013. If you are 27 and older as of January 1, 2014, parent information is NOT required on the FAFSA to be considered for PCOM's financial need scholarships. Parent information is not required on the FAFSA for consideration of federal student loans.

- DUE: PCOM Scholarship Application on your Nucleus Financial Aid Checklist for endowed/external scholarships.

April 15 |
- Your Nucleus Financial Aid Checklist will display your financial aid award summary which will list your available Stafford loan and scholarship amounts.
- Review the awards and choose the amounts you wish to accept.
