Joseph P. Guagliardo, DO

  

Dr. Guagliardo received his DO in 1971 from KCCOM (UHSCOM). He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service where he completed his internship and orthopedic residency in 1976 at the USPHS Hospital in New York City. Dr. Guagliardo was appointed Associate Professor of Surgery at PCOM from 1977 until 1982 and was involved in the training of medical students, interns and residents. Dr. Guagliardo is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Guagliardo has been in private practice, specializing in orthopedic surgery since 1982, where he trains osteopathic medical students both in his office and in the operating room. He joined the Department of Anatomy in August of 2001, and teaches gross anatomy to PCOM first year DO medical students as well as students in the Biomedical Masters program and the Physician's Assistant Program. He also lectures to second year DO students in the General Surgery course.

Dr. Guagliardo joined the PCOM Department of Surgery in July of 2005 and is a professor of surgery. He evaluates patients at 4190 City Avenue, Suite 509. In addition, Dr. Guagliardo serves as delegate for the American Osteopathic Association and is Vice Chairman of District 14 of POMA.
