Burton Mark, D.O.

  

Dr. Burton Mark is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry & Student Services. He joined the faculty of PCOM in 1987. Dr. Mark has taught sleep physiology, chronobiology and sleep disorders to fourth year students, and led rotations in sleep disorders for third year clinical psychiatry students and fourth year students on Community Clinic rotation. His private practice focuses on adult and adolescent psychiatry, biofeedback therapy, stress management, psychosomatic disorders and electroconvulsive therapy. Dr. Mark is an attending psychiatrist at Paoli Memorial Hospital, Medical Director of the Central Chester County Sleep Diagnostic Laboratory, and consultant to numerous area nursing homes.

Dr. Mark has published educational audiocassettes on psychopharmacology, chemotherapy for psychotherapists, and psychochemotherapy in general practice. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Neurology and Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Sleep Disorders Association. Dr. Mark received his D.O. in 1963 from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and his M.S.A. in Health Administration from West Chester University.
