Kenneth J. Veit earned the D.O. degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and the M.B.A from Temple University. Dr. Veit joined PCOM as a full time faculty member in 1980. He currently serves as Dean and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs. Previous appointments at PCOM include Chairman of the Division of Community Medicine, Director of Medical Education and Assistant Dean of Graduate Medical Education. Prior to joining PCOM full time, Dr. Veit held positions as Medical Director of the Southern Huntington Company Medical Center, Medical Coordinator for the National Health Service Corp and Chief of the Clinical Consultation Branch of the United States Public Health Service in addition to concurrently acting as a clinical preceptor for PCOM students.

Dr. Veit has been a community leader serving on numerous boards and advisory committees. A selected list includes the editorial board of the Modern Medicine Journal, advisory committees for the Costin Institute, National Health Service Corp, Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health, Health Management Association and Quality Management Board for Greater Atlantic HMO. Dr. Veit serves on the Board of Directors/Board of Trustees for the Quality Medical HMO-Foundations of Health, Philadelphia Health Management Corporation, Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also on the board of the Commission of Osteopathic College Accreditation and is Medical Director of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.

Dr. Veit is a Fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Family Practice and the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. He has been honored with the United States Public Health Service Humanitarian Medal, Commissioned Officer Superior Service Award, Shankweiler Fellow Award and Dale Dodson Award.
