GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Welcome. This section provides information about giving to Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine. Each gift to PCOM plays a critical role in advancing the College toward
new levels of excellence--expanding academic offerings, supporting faculty in their teaching
and research efforts, and providing additional student services.

The Fund for PCOM
Annual gifts by alumni, parents, and other friends provide the College the flexibility to take advantage of new educational opportunities, respond to unforeseen challenges, and allow PCOM resources where the needs and opportunities are greatest.

DO Student Scholarship Fund
Every March, PCOM holds a phon-a-thon campaign asking alumni around the country to support the DO Student scholarship. Funds raised during the phon-a-thon are divided between two funds, one permanently endowed and the other an operating fund.  The operating fund is spent totally each year on DO Student Scholarships, while a portion of the income from the endowed account is also given in scholarship support.

Center for Chronic Disorders of Aging (CCDA)
The mission of the Center for Chronic Disorders of Aging (CCDA) at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is to improve the quality of life for all individuals suffering from age-related chronic diseases and disorders. CCDA also encompasses the Food Allergy Research Initiative

The PCOM Parent Fund
Proceeds of the PCOM Parent Fund are critical dollars that enhance academic programs, provide student advisement services and help the College meet new challenges throughout the academic year. Gifts to the PCOM Parent Fund gives parents the opportunity to be involved with PCOM. Every gift large or small makes a difference.

Major Gifts
Major Gifts given outright are especially valuable to the College because they help meet immediate needs.  They are frequently made to fund endowments--invested funds in which the principal is protected and the interest used toward a gift named by the donor.  In this way, the gifts live on in perpetuity as a legacy to honor your generosity and the good it has done.

Planned Giving
Planned giving or charitable gift planning refers to the process whereby a donor gives an asset to one or more nonprofit organizations using methods that financially benefit the donor, his or her heirs and the organization(s).  Click here to see our new planned giving page.

Alumni Association of PCOM
Gifts to the Alumni Association of PCOM help to promote the interest and welfare of PCOM along with the students and alumni.  Your support provides students with scholarships, fellowships, grants and low interest loans.  Many alumni programs and seminars as well as special events are subsidized by the Alumni Association.
