1960

Barry L. Getzoff, DO, Dresher, PA, has added a new doctor to his rheumatology practice in Langhorne.

1963

Emanuel Schiowitz, DO, Brooklyn, NY, was listed in the 2013 Castle Connolly Guide to Top Doctors> for family medicine in the New York metropolitan area.

Harvey M. Spector, DO, Huntingdon Valley, PA, has been named medical director of the new Wellness Center at the Klein Branch Jewish Community Center in northeast Philadelphia.  This new concept is a collaboration between the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network and the Klein Branch Jewish Community Center.

1966

Rabbi Merrill J. Mirman, DO, Springfield, PA, was interviewed by StoryCorps> in Washington, DC.  Dr. Mirman was a commanding officer in Vietnam during the United States military action in that country. He spoke about his experiences in war time Vietnam. Each conversation on Story Corps is recorded on a CD and preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

1968

Marjorie A. Angert, DO, Philadelphia, PA, was elected president of the Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia.

Donald V. J. Sesso, DO, Gwynedd Valley, PA, was appointed acting associate medical director of the acute care detoxification unit at Eagleville Hospital.

1973

John S. Stevens, Jr., DO, Allentown, PA, was awarded the 2012-2013 Clinical Preceptor of the Year by DeSales University's physician assistant program.  Dr. Stevens is chairman of the obstetrics and gynecology department at St. Luke's Hospital Allentown campus and a physician with OB-GYN Care Associates of St. Luke's Allentown.

1976

John C. Prestosh, DO, Nazareth, PA, was elected president-elect of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.  Dr. Prestosh has been a board member for the past seven years.

Kenneth J. Veit, DO, MBA, Lafayette Hill, PA, was elected chair of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine's Board of Deans officers for 2013-2014.

1978

David A. Baron, DO, Altadena, CA, had his fourth book, Contemporary Issues in Sports Psychiatry: An International Perspective, published by Wiley Press UK. (July 1, 2013)

J. Michael Herr, DO, West Hartford, CT, has taken over Dr. Dennis Burke's OMT-only practice.

1979

Joseph V. Pongonis, DO, Langhorne, PA, has been keeping the families of Holmesburg physically healthy for 32 years.  Dr. Pongonis recently opened a new 15,000 square foot addition to his family practice and has orchestrated the renovation and redevelopment of an additional 32,000 square feet of medical office space. His mission is to create the Northeast's first fully integrated medical center, The Center for Medical Excellence.

Bernard A. Susavage, DO, Yuma, AZ, joined Capital Region Orthopaedics and will be practicing at Albany Capital Region Orthopaedics.

Bernyce Peplowski, DO, Calabasas, CA, was promoted to senior vice president for national medical policy and innovation by U.S. HealthWorks.

1981

Julia M. Pillsbury, DO, Dover, DE, has been named Bayhealth Medical Center's International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) 10th Revision Physician Champion.  Dr. Pillsbury is providing continuing education programs for the medical staff as well as serving as a liaison between the medical staff and medical center regarding ICD-10 issues.

1982

Jere J. Mammino, DO, Winter Springs, FL, was re-elected secretary/treasurer of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.

Susann E. Schetter, DO, Millersville, PA, was named associate chief medical officer for the Penn Medical Group.

1983

Gary A. Aaronson, DO, New Hope, PA, was selected as a 2013 Top Doc in pulmonary medicine by Philadelphia Magazine.

Louis A. DiToppa, DO, North Huntingdon, PA, joined the U.S. Figure Skating's National Network of sports medicine scientists and providers. Dr. DiToppa has a private family medicine practice in McKeesport.

Darlene Ann M. Dunay, DO, Old Forge, PA, was nominated to the Screen Actors Guild for her television and radio promotions for patient care.

1986

Michael R. Bernui, DO, Hendersonville, TN, was awarded the Paul Grayson Smith, Sr., DO Osteopathic Physician of the Year Award by the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association. Dr. Bernui is the founder of the Center for Restorative Medicine.

Barbara A. Crothers, DO, Springfield, VA, was the recipient of the CAP Public Service Award presented by the College of American Pathologists.  This is the College's highest honor for accomplishments in political and civic life and dedication to public service in the United States.

1988

Jerry R. Balentine, DO, Port Chester, NY, had his article "Urinary Tract Infection (UTIs) Overview" published on (August 16, 2013)

Carman A. Ciervo, DO, Marlton, NJ, was named 2012-2013 Physician Leadership Institute Mentor of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.  Dr. Ciervo is senior vice president for clinical and population health services at the Kennedy Health System.

Ronald M. Lieberman, DO, Dover, DE, was recognized by Delaware Today> (October 2013) as one of the Top Doctors in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

1989

Kris M. Belland, DO, Pensacola, FL, was named executive director of the Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC). NMOTC is the recognized global leader in operational medical and aviation survival training, manages medical operational training for medical and medical support personnel deploying worldwide, and training that prepares aviators and flight crews to survive in land and water mishaps.

1990

Lawrence D. Hochman, DO, New Port Richey, FL, had his article "Putting the Focus on Focused Practice" published in the 2012-2013 Annual Report of the American Board of Radiology.  Dr. Hochman has been named practice president of Florida Cancer Affiliates, a multidisciplinary oncology practice in the Tampa Bay area part of the US Oncology Network.

Mary T. Martucci, DO, Haddonfield, NJ, joined CentraState Healthcare Systems, Freehold Township, as the medical director of the comprehensive breast care program.

1991

David R. Hassman, DO, Voorhees, NJ, participated in this year's Maccabi games in Israel. Dr. Hassman represented Team USA in men's basketball for which he won a bronze medal. Additionally, Dr. Hassman, his brother, Michael A. Hassman, DO '94, and father, Joseph M. Hassman, DO '65 are pleased to announce the opening of their fourth office, Advocare Berlin Medical Associates.

John G. Raheb, DO, Pensacola, FL, has retired after serving 21 years in the United States Navy. Dr. Raheb has joined the medical staff at Surgical Healing Arts Center, in Fort Myers.

Charles W. Raudat, DO, Johnson City, TN, joined Mountain States Medical Group and will be practicing with Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeons.

Mary Beth A. O'Hara, DO, Lewisburg, PA, joined the Evangelical Medical Service Organization and will be practicing at Family Medical Care.

John E. Paredes, DO, Longview, TX, joined the medical staff at Good Shepherd Medical Associates.

1994

Joseph M. Micchia, Jr., DO, Wake Forest, NC, was inducted into the 2013 Divisional Football Hall of Fame.  Dr. Micchia is the owner of Primary Care Partners along with his wife, Gina L. Micchia, DO '94.

1995

W. Allen Fink, MS, DO, Tacoma, WA, was appointed assistant professor of psychiatry at County College of Morris. Dr. Fink received his masters degree in health administration from the University of Washington.

1997

Gretta A. Gross, DO, Warner Robins, GA, was named director of the medical education and family medicine residency program for Houston Healthcare System.

Michael M. Langer, DO, Avon Lake, OH, and his wife, Lori, are the proud parents of Christina Michelle, born on September 9, 2013.

1998

Christopher J. Haines, DO, Southampton, PA, was named chief medical officer of Children's Specialized Hospital, an affiliate member of the Robert Wood Johnson Health System. Children's Specialized Hospital has named Christopher Haines,

David R. Sheba, DO, Uniontown, PA, was inducted into the Laurel Highlands Life Achievement Hall of Fame on August 31, 2013.  Dr. Sheba has an orthopedic practice in Uniontown and is on staff at Uniontown Hospital.

Carl R. Hoegerl, DO, Forest, VA, was appointed chair of medicine at the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Lynchburg.

2003

Adam Colombo, DO, Coopersburg, PA, was appointed assistant program director of the Osteopathic Emergency Medicine Residency Program at St. Luke's University Hospital, in Bethlehem.

Michael S. Lempel, DO, Lorton, VA, and his wife, Masha, are the proud parents of Zackary Sean Lempel, born on March 30, 2013.  Baby Zackary Sean joins big sister, Bianca, age 2.

Andrew J. McMarlin, DO, Sullivans Island, SC, participated in the International Dragon Boat Federations' World Championship in Hungary this past summer, where he rowed for Team USA.  Dr. McMarlin returned home with one gold medal, two silver medals, and two bronze medals. He has become a volunteer physician for the U.S. Olympic team.

2004

Karen J. Gisotti, DO, Delmar, NY, joined Capital Region Orthopaedics and will be practicing at Albany Capital Region Orthopaedics.

Michael E. McGarrigle, MS, Springfield, PA, was appointed vice president of service operations at TMG Health.

Alyse N. Stern, PA-C, Hoboken, NJ, married Alex Polk on May 26, 2013.

Karyne B. Wilner, PsyD, Portsmouth, RI, is training professional therapists in Core Energetics, a holistic therapy.  Dr. Wilner is the director at the Integrated Psychological Services Center.

2005

Timothy J. Harrison, MS, DO, Chester Springs, PA, and his wife, Eddee, are the proud parents of Joshua Ryan, born on September 9, 2013.  Baby Joshua joins big brother, Zack, age 2.

Shana M. Perman, MS, PA-C, Rockville, MD, and her husband, Chad, are the proud parents of Mack Dane, born on August 6, 2013.  Baby Mack Dane joins big sister, Ryann, age 2. Dr. Perman joined the medical staff at Shady Grove Fertility in Washington, DC.

James C. Petrucci, DO, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, was appointed Egg Harbor Township School District's physician.  Dr. Petrtucci practices at Rainbow Pediatrics.

2006

Christopher M. Malozzi, DO, Ocean Springs, MS, joined Singing River Health System and will be practicing at Southern Mississippi Heart Center.

Melanie K. Turock, DO, Walnutport, PA, was appointed trauma program medical director for Pennsylvania's first level IV trauma center at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, part of the St. Luke's University Health Network.

Christopher D. Wenger, DO, Lititz, PA, joined the medical staff at Lancaster General Health as a cardiologist, with a special interest in prevention.  Dr. Wenger received the 2013 Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award from the American College of Osteopathic Internists at their convention.

Victoria N. Zysek, MBA, DO, Broadview Heights, OH, joined the medical staff at Adena Cardiology.

2007

Justin L. Elder, DO, Lewes, DE, joined Beebe Physician Network, a not-for-profit, multi-specialty medical group affiliated with Beebe Medical Center.

Jennifer Ann Gallas, PA-C, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, and her husband, Thomas, welcomed their son, Thomas Robert Balmer, V, born on May 1, 2013.

Jason J. Jancosko, DO, Easton, MD, joined the medical staff at The Orthopedic Center.  Dr. Jancosko specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery as well as general orthopedics.

2008

David P. Bica, DO, Johnston, RI, joined the medical staff at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.  Dr. Bica will be seeing patients at Notre Dame Ambulatory Center, in Central Falls and Affinity Sports Medicine, in East Greenwich.

Gary P. MacDonald, Jr., DO, Sandy, UT, joined the medical staff at Intermountain Healthcare Syracuse Clinic and Instacare.

Peter S. Armanas, DO, Woodstock, MD, completed his psychiatric residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  Dr. Armanas joined the US Army Medical Department at Fort Drum as a staff psychiatrist.
