School of Pharmacy

Responding to the rising need for pharmacists nationally, and particularly in the South, Georgia Campus - Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine now offers a four-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Supported by a 110-year tradition of training osteopathic physicians and other health practitioners, PCOM is uniquely positioned to introduce the PharmD to its range of offerings.

PCOM School of Pharmacy faculty is comprised of expert and accomplished educators, practitioners and pharmaceutical scientists who employ exciting teaching methods within the most modern and advanced facilities in pharmaceutical education. The curriculum emphasizes patient-centered care and preventive practices, entrusting graduates to create thoughtful, proactive, customer-focused environments.

The role of the pharmacist continues to evolve with opportunities in community/retail practice including drug, department stores or mass merchandisers; clinics or compounding labs; mail order or pharmaceutical wholesalers; healthcare and government agencies; as well as pharmaceutical research and development. PCOM School of Pharmacy will prepare graduates for entry-level careers with the right combination of skills, knowledge and attitudes to develop and grow in the ever-changing field.

In June 2011, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education granted PCOM School of Pharmacy candidate accreditation status. For additional details on accreditation status, please go to www.acpe-accredit.org.
