Xinyu (Eric) Wang, PhD

  

Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Dr. Wang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Peking University in Beijing, China. He earned his Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Wang then conducted his postdoctoral research in US Army Institute of Surgical Research at San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Wang has teaching experience in different pharmaceutical disciplines and labs. His research interest is focused on the drug discovery and development to identify potential drug candidates for ameliorating ischemia/reperfusion injury and uncover the beneficial mechanism of those testing compounds at molecular level using system approach. He has presented his research in various national and international conferences and published several peer-reviewed articles in different pharmaceutical fields including medicinal chemistry, molecular pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis, and pharmacokinetics. Dr. Wang is a member of several honor societies and professional organizations including Rho Chi, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Xi, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and American Association of Advancement of Science.
