Michael J. Deimling, RPh, PhD

  

Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Dr. Deimling brings over 25 years of experience in pharmacy education to the PCOM School of Pharmacy at the Georgia Campus. Dr. Deimling earned a BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati and his MS and PhD from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Purdue University School of Pharmacy and Pharmacal Sciences. He is a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio. He has held faculty appointments at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy, University of Toledo College of Pharmacy, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy where he served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences for more than 8 years. During his career, he has taught a variety of courses to pharmacy students including Physiology, Pathophysiology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacokinetics, and his primary specialty, Pharmacology.

Dr. Deimling has presented a variety of ACPE accredited continuing education seminars for pharmacists as well as authored or coauthored a number of book chapters and journal articles. He has been extensively involved in the use of technology in an educational setting, establishing computerized laboratories and multimedia classrooms both within the College of Pharmacy and throughout the University. In his leisure time Dr. Deimling has served as Committee Chair and Den Leader for Cub Scouts and as Committee Member and Merit Badge Counselor for Boy Scouts of America.
