Director, Experiential Education and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Dr. Wickman Bierster brings to pharmacy education a diverse background including five years as an assistant clinical professor at Mercer University, conducting research in the areas of women’s health and hyperlipidemia and lecturing nationwide on those topics. She has entrepreneurial skills, opening her own continuing education and healthcare monitoring company and later an independent pharmacy specializing in pharmacy compounding.
In 1997, she was named "One of the 50th Most Influential Pharmacist in the U.S." by American Druggist. Dr. Wickman Bierster earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Mercer University, Southern School of Pharmacy and completed Georgia's first Community Pharmacy Practice Residency at Norcross Pharmacy. She will be responsible for coordinating the pharmacy experiential component of the PCOM Pharm.D. curriculum. Given her background on conducting Georgia’s first Community Residency and starting a pharmacy from scratch, Dr. Wickman Bierster is excited to join the faculty at PCOM and pioneer a wonderful pharmacy experience for students for many years to come!
