Assistant Dean for Professional and Student Affairs
Dr. Lee is originally from New Hampshire and earned a BS degree in biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire and a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) in Denver, CO. Prior to earning his Ph.D. he was employed Xenometrix, Inc., in Boulder, CO, a biotechnology start-up company, developing cell- and gene expression-based toxicity assays. Dr. Lee completed a post-doctoral training fellowship at UCHSC School of Pharmacy utilizing genetically selected inbred mice to identify candidate genes underlying rapid behavioral tolerance to alcohol. He also completed post-doctoral work at the Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG) at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO studying complex behavioral traits related to drugs of abuse utilizing nicotinic receptor knock-out animals. Dr. Lee has published peer-reviewed research articles in the areas of molecular toxicology, pharmacology, behavioral genetics and schizophrenia.
Prior to coming to PCOM, Dr. Lee held a faculty appointment in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy (ACP), in Oakwood, VA. He taught in several courses including cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology and immunology. In addition to his faculty appointment, he served 2 years as Assistant Dean of Student and Alumni Affairs at ACP overseeing admissions, academic support services, and career and professional development of pharmacy students.
