Zhiqian (James) Wu, PhD

  

Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Dr. Wu earned a B.S. in pharmacy from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in China and then came to the United States to pursue a doctoral degree at Wayne State University College of Pharmacy in Detroit, Michigan. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor after earning his PhD. He joined Long Island University College of Pharmacy as a faculty member in 2006.
In addition to his teaching, Dr. Wu is engaged in establishing a research program at GA-PCOM. His research projects focus on using prodrug approach to improve oral absorption and targeting of anti-tumor and antiviral agents. He is also interested in siRNA delivery by nanoparticles. He has published several research papers in these areas and presented his work at a number of national meetings.  program
