Karim Zia Zaman, DO

Assistant Professor, Pathology
Dr. Zaman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and earned a DO degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He completed a rotating osteopathic internship at Dallas Family Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and a five year combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is fellowship trained in transfusion medicine from the National Institute of Health, Bethesda Md., and completed a second fellowship in surgical pathology at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.
Dr. Zaman has lectured in pathology at many hospitals to include NY Methodist Hospital, NIH, Mayo Clinic, University of Texas Houston Medical School, and Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He has worked as a transfusion medicine specialist at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He has also worked as an Attending Surgical and Clinical Pathologist at New York Methodist Hospital and at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Dr. Zaman is licensed to practice medicine in Illinois, New York, North Carolina, and Georgia. He is married and has two children.
