DESCRIPTION
The Family Medicine Spring Review CME program is targeted to the needs of the osteopathic primary care physician. The topics presented will cover current primary care issues.
OBJECTIVE
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Identify and manage Childhood Obesity in the primary care setting.
- Discuss how Motivational Interviewing spirit and method can be adapted for brief exam
room consultations.
- Understand the shoulder biomechanics and how they relate to somatic dysfunction.
- Understand the working knowledge of OMT in the shoulder to include MFR, LVHA and BLT.
- Update information and understanding of the issues and new information in the HIPAA and
security with regards to electronic communications.
- Utilize in practice, the most up to date screening guidelines based on patient age, demographics,
and risk factors.
- Understand the recommendation grading system utilized by the USPSTF for current guidelines,
in order to perform appropriate routine health maintenance screening and counsel patients on such.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
Physicians: "The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine has requested that the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve this program for five AOA Category 1-A CME credits. Approval is currently pending". Sign-in and full day attendance of program is required for credit. All faculty participating in continuing medical education programs sponsored by PCOM are expected to disclose to the program audience whether they do or do not have any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest or other relationships related to the content of their presentation(s).
PARKING
On-campus parking is available in our garage, please enter on Stout Road. All-day parking is $5.00. Please note: the automated gate takes quarters or one, five, ten, and twenty dollar bills. The garage is now equipped to receive credit card payments (Visa, Master Card and Discover) at the two exit gates. Additionally, receipts are now available for those paying by cash or credit card. Enter Evans Hall through the front entrance across from the parking garage.
FEE POLICIES
Physicians $140.00, Physician Assistants and other Health Care Professionals, $95.00. Registration fees for Saturday and Sunday programs are not refundable, nor can they be credited to future programs.
