ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks full-time Security Sergeant/Dispatchers to, under the direction of the Director of Security & Public Safety, provide security and safety services for the protection of life and property within the college community. In addition, the Security Sergeant/Dispatchers will provide supervision and direction to contract security staff personnel. This position will also be responsible for monitoring alarms and cameras, receiving calls placed to the college, and dispatching campus security officers when necessary. Primary duties include: inspection and preventative patrol; conducting educational safety programs; orientation of new personnel; completing and maintaining shift logs; dispatch responsibilities on a rotational basis, and other duties as assigned. Position requires a high school diploma and a minimum three (3) years security/public safety or law enforcement experience with at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Candidates must have prior PA Act #235 training and/or PA Act #120 certification and maintain PA Act #235 certification along with a valid driver’s license. Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the job and be willing to work various rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
