ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Georgia Campus- Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Biomedical Sciences, seeks a full time Administrative Assistant.  The Administrative Assistant for the Department of Pharmacy Practice is an integral part of the overall mission of PCOM School of Pharmacy and will be expected to be an active member of the Pharmacy Practice Departmental and Administrative Assistant Team.  Some responsibilities include, but not limited to:  schedules and coordinates meetings and facilities, which may include travel and lodging arrangements for Department Chair and faculty as necessary directly or through designated travel agencies, prepares correspondence, reports, memoranda, special projects, technical papers and related material for department staff as requested, provides assistance in the day-to-day administration of department including running Scantrons for faculty, assisting the Chair of Pharmacy Practice.

     

    High school diploma or equivalent required.  Associates degree or some technical training beyond high school is preferred.  A minimum of two years experience preferred as an administrative assistant in a fast-paced office with preference given to college or university environment.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point is required.  Must have experience using Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Access is desirable. Experience using Banner and Blackboard preferred.  Must have ability to communicate effectively both with groups and individuals.  Must have ability to interact effectively with people of all backgrounds, including students, administration, faculty and staff demonstrating respect and professionalism. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required.  Successful candidate will represent the School to different constituencies which may include local, state, national or international professional organizations. Prior experience in the major areas of pharmacy practice and Experiential Education is a benefit.
