Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – School of Pharmacy is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time, Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track faculty position in Pharmacy Practice at the Georgia campus (situated near the greater Atlanta area). The new School currently holds Candidate status with ACPE and has enrolled its third class of students.

 

This individual will be expected to assist in the development of the PharmD program, teach a variety of topics in pharmacotherapeutics, develop a practice site at a hospital, ambulatory care clinic or outpatient pharmacy site, precept students at the site and develop a program of scholarship as evidenced by attainment of research/training grants and presentation and publication of scholarly work.  In addition, individuals will be expected to contribute to the service needs of the School, serve on various committees and participate in the accreditation process.  The successful applicant will possess a Pharm.D. degree or Ph.D. in a pharmacy-related discipline with successful completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 accredited residency program or have equivalent clinical training.  Desirable qualifications include previous teaching experience in a classroom setting or precepting students on rotations, completion of a fellowship program of at least 2 years duration with independent research experience and previous academic experience in a school of pharmacy.  Preferred practice areas are pediatrics or oncology but other specialties will be considered..   Applicants must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Georgia.
